About John Colley

John Colley is a fully qualified photographer who spent his early days working in industrial and advertising photography before moving on to specialising in automotive photography.

Early breaks included shooting the cover for the first issue of Classic and Sports car magazine and contracts to provide motor sports photography for Austin-Rover and Renault UK. Recently John opened his own purpose built drive-in studio in Derby, and whilst still undertaking location editorial, motor sport and commercial work is now putting more emphasis on developing his automotive studio work.

Unlike most photographers in this field who rent, John owns his studio and this allows him to offer excellent value and quality. The studio features a full infinity cove, Mezzanine high level shooting area, Arri tungsten lighting rig, Bowen's Quad flash, black background set up and Gojak vehicle moving dollies.

An early adopter of digital photography, John has kept abreast with modern technology, and all work is supplied fully processed and retouched, artwork ready.
